The detective constable is one of two policemen who allegedly used unorthodox methods of interrogation of an informer in a murder investigation.
The man died in hospital.
The two policemen then allegedly arrested three other suspects, took them to a field where they were shot.
However, one of the men was able to crawl out of the field and was taken to hospital by a passing motorist.
One of the detectives was arrested on Monday while the other is still at large.
