Northern Cape police said that she was arrested on Wednesday by members of their anti-corruption team.
Spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said they were acting on a tip-off that the woman had allegedly processed illegal identity documents for undocumented foreign nationals in Upington for a fee.
“The police executed a successful action and arrested the suspect red-handed at her office.
“The suspect was charged with corruption and will be appearing in the Upington Magistrates’ Court soon,” he said.
Kock said provincial police management welcomed the arrest vowing to leave “no stone unturned” in rooting out corruption.
