The Department of Home Affairs has extended weekend operating hours for the collection of identity documents ahead of the first voter registration weekend.
In a statement on Friday, the department said the extension was due to meeting the demands for ID collections and operational hours would be extended by five hours.
Home Affairs spokesperson, Siya Qoza says offices will be open on Saturday 4 November, as well as on Saturday 11 November, for five hours for people to collect their IDs and passports ahead of the voter registration weekend on the 18th and 18th of this month.
Operating hours will be from 8 am to 1 pm.
