Health Minister, Dr Zweli Mkhize, has confirmed that he will recommend to Cabinet that lockdown regulations be relaxed further.
This includes current restrictions on the times that alcohol can be sold, the evening curfew and travel restrictions, among others.
Mkhize says the decline in Covid19 infections justifies the further relaxation of current restrictions.
As at Tuesday the 15th of September the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in South Africa is 15 641.
Expectations are high that an announcement will be made this week about the country moving to level 1 of the lockdown.
President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the nation at 7 pm on Wednesday evening.
