Hawks swoop in on organised crime unit targeting cop killers

Members of the Hawks have swooped on the Cato Manor Organised Crime Unit in Durban following claims that the unit effectively operated as a hit squad, targeting cop killers and other criminals.

Hawks spokesperson, McIntosh Polela says their lead investigator has handed a report on the Unit to the Head of the crime fighting unit to determine whether it's necessary to continue with the probe.

He says the allegations are serious and must be dealt with appropriately.
