The Hawks have seized a consignment of cocaine with an estimated street value of R111 million, which was discovered in the Durban harbour.
Hawks spokesperson, Warrant Officer Bonnie Nxumalo, says the seizure was made on Saturday and now the task is to investigate its origins.
"On Saturday 18 June, the Hawks team and SAPS Operational Response Services were alerted about suspicious consignment in a vessel that was ferrying trucks. The team arrived at the said place and recovered canvas bags with 265 bricks of cocaine," she said.
Nxumalo said the "ownership of the shipment could not be located" and no arrests were made at this stage.
