The Gupta family has formally apologised for all the reported incidents surrounding the wedding of 23-year-old Vega Gupta.
In a statement on Saturday, wealthy businessman Atul Gupta, said in light of what had happened, the family would like to issue a general apology to all affected.
The apology was extended to the South African and Indian governments, the local authorities, the South African public and wedding guests.
The Gupta's chartered plane landed at Waterkloof Air Force Base apparently without proper authorisation, sparking a national outcry.
Several government departments have instituted investigations in the matter while five top officials have been suspended in the wake of the saga.
