The government says the media has misconstrued a Cabinet directive on the publication of photographs of President Jacob Zuma's Nkandla home.
Govenment spokesperson Phumla Williams says government has no problem with the media publishing pictures of National Key Points, including Nkandla, as it's in the line of duty.
However, she said that zooming into safety and security features of National Key Points could potentially compromise national security.
Several newspapers published photographs of Nkandla on Friday in apparent defiance after a warning by State Security Minister Siyabonga Cwele on Thursday that it would be illegal to publish pictures of National Key Points.
