The body of a young girl has been found on Muizenberg beach in Cape Town.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel André Traut says the body, which was found on Friday, was buried in the sand.
He says because the body was exposed to the elements, it is not possible to make an identification yet, or to speculate on her age.
Traut says a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Police are investigating a case of murder.
