Two police officers from Gauteng are expected to appear in different courts on Monday morning following their arrest over the weekend for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
A police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters
says a 27-year-old Constable was arrested in Sedibeng on Saturday night after driving into an accident, injuring a bystander whilst a 37-year-old Sergeant was arrested on Thursday in Johannesburg after his car collided with a Metro police vehicle.
Brigadier Peters says besides for the criminal charges they face the members will also face internal disciplinary processes.
The two officers were part of a group of 740 people who were arrested in Gauteng last week as part of a crime prevention operation.
