The ANC said it had reached an agreement to this effect with Cosatu on the matter. An ANC statement said this would give the task team more time to explore alternative funding mechanisms.
Meanwhile, High Court judge, Bill Prinsloo will rule this weekend on an application for an interdict to stop the implemenation of the e-tolling system which was scheduled for Monday.
The application was brought by a lobby group, Opposition To Urban Tolling Alliance.
