Five people have been killed after their car crashed into a tree, before hitting a wall in the south of Johannesburg.
Johannesburg metro police spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar says a 35-year-old woman, driving a BMW, lost control of the car on the main road in Naturena on Thursday.
He says she and her passengers, four men in their 30's, died at the scene.
Minnaar says the impact of the accident was so great that the car split in two.
He says two pedestrians were also injured, and were taken to hospital.
