A 51-year-old G4S security officer arrested in connection with the dramatic escape of killer and rapist, Thabo Bester, made a brief appearance in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
The Free State spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority, Phaladi Shuping, says the case against Motanyana Masukela was postponed.
The Mangaung Correctional Centre security officer will join the other five accused in the matter for a bail application starting on 3 May.
Masukela was arrested on Tuesday as part of the ongoing investigation into Bester's escape and the discovery of the charred remains of another person in his cell.
Shuping said he faces charges of defeating the ends of justice and assisting an inmate to escape from lawful custody.
Meanwhile, just one accused in the saga was granted bail.
The father of Thabo Bester's girlfriend, Zolile Sekeleni, was released on R10 000 bail after he was charged with "aiding and abetting an escapee."
The case against Sekeleni case was postponed to 16 May.
The three other co-accused, Dr Nandipha Magudumana, former G4S security guard Senohe Matsoara, and former G4S technician Teboho James Lipholo, will remain in custody until their bail hearing scheduled to start on 3 May.
