The ANC says its national officials will be meeting with the leadership of its Youth League on Monday.
That's to discuss their relationship and the general functioning of the League.
Speaking at a media briefing on Tuesday, ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe was adamant that the meeting was not about disbanding the party's Youth League.
"The objective is to have a Youth League that play's its role in society that complements the work of the ANC. At times the ANC reach out for young people and therefore plays a constitutional role of a League of the ANC. That is the intention. Disbanding will be a decision in form on weather we are making progress and making it functional" Mantashe said.
