Fuel prices set to drop in May

File

The energy department has announced that fuel prices are set to decrease next week.

As of midnight on Tuesday, the price of petrol will decrease by nine cents per litre, while diesel will go down by 31 cents per litre.

Paraffin will decrease by 23 cents per litre and LP gas by R1.72 per kilogram.

The Energy Department said in a statement on Saturday that a drop in crude oil prices was the main reason for the decrease, while the rand/US dollar exchange rate also contributed.
