A local health worker from Botshabelo outside Bloemfontein has been arrested for unlawfully selling Anti-Retroviral medicine to members of the public.
Police Spokesperson Brigadier Motantsi Makhele says the 45-year-old was arrested on Thursday night during an intelligence-driven operation.
Police found 102 bottles of ARV medicine worth over R40 000 in his house as well as syringes.
Brigadier Makhele says he also had signed sick notes and referral letters from a doctor.
The suspect was arrested and charged under the possession of controlled substances Act 101 of 1965 and is expected to appear before Botshabelo Magistrate Court soon.
