The Department of Health has confirmed the fourth case of monkeypox in South Africa.
Spokesperson Foster Mohale said the patient is a 28-year-old man from the Western Cape.
He had travelled to Spain and returned to South Africa in the second week of August
The three previous cases were reported in Gauteng, Western Cape, and Limpopo.
Monkeypox is traditionally a mild disease manifesting as blisters on the skin and is self-limiting with a fatality rate of 1%.
