Four suspects linked to an armed robbery in Meyerton, Gauteng have been arrested in Mpumalanga and in Tembisa on the East Rand.
Hawks spokesperson, Colonel Katlego Mogale says three suspects, aged between 31 and 54, were apprehended on Friday during an intelligence-driven operation in Mpumalanga after information led them to the province where the suspects' vehicles were spotted.
She says a high-speed chase and shootout ensued during which one suspect was wounded and two others arrested.
Mogale says a fourth suspect was arrested in Tembisa in connection with two other vehicles that were allegedly used during the armed robbery.
She says three vehicles were seized, as well as two unlicensed firearms, ammunition, cellphones, gloves and balaclavas.
The suspects will appear in court soon on charges of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit an armed robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, as well as defeating the ends of justice.
