Four suspects appear in court for Emmanuel Sithole murder

The case of four men accused of killing Mozambican National Emmanuel Sithole was postponed in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday morning.

The matter will be back in court on the 4th of May.

The four: Mthinto Bhengu, Sizwe Mngomezulu, Ayanda Sibiya and Sifundi Mzimela remain in custody.

Thirty five year-old Sithole was stabbed to death in a xenophobic attack in Alexandra, north of Johannesburg over the weekend.

Pictures printed in the Sunday Times show three men attacking Sithole - one of them can clearly be seen aiming a knife at Sithole’s upper body.

ANC supporters picketed outside the court, calling for bail not to be granted to Sithole’s killers.

Gauteng premier David Makhura, safety and security MEC Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane and top NPA officials were in court.
