Eastern Cape police commissioner, Lieutenant General Nomthetheleli Mene has expressed her shock and dismay at the killing of four family members on Thursday night at Nyanisweni Locality, in Sulenkama, Qumbu.
Provincial police spokesperson Tembinkosi Kinana said police responded to reports of a shooting incident in the locality at around 8 pm.
On arrival on the scene they were shown the bodies of four family members in a rondavel with gunshots wounds to their upper bodies.
No arrests have been made at this stage and the motive for the shootings is unknown.
The deceased family members are all male and carry the same surname of Tshwane.
They've been named as 60-year-old Limasile Tshwane, 52-year-old Bulelani, 15-year-old Nqobile and 15-year-old Unako Tshwane.
