A former Kwazulu Natal primary school counsellor will be sentenced in July, following his conviction on five counts of sexual assault.
The National Prosecuting Authority said the 32-year-old man was also found guilty in the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Friday of rape and accessing child pornography.
NPA regional spokesperson, Natasha Ramkisson-Kara, said in his capacity as a counsellor he consulted with learners in his office on the school premises, and "preyed on male learners."
She said he was first arrested in 2016 when the incidents came to light.
Ramkisson-Kara said the matter was postponed to 13 July pre-sentencing reports and he remains out on bail.
