Former Hard Livings gang boss Rashied Staggie is expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrateâs Court on Tuesday for the alleged illegal possession of stolen whisky and cigars.
Staggie, Jayaraj Pillay, his son Michaheel Mahendra Pillay and Joao Paulo de Gouveia were arrested after being found in the possession of expensive stolen whisky and cigars near Century City in April. They are currently out on bail.
Reports at the time suggested that Staggie was in the middle of planning his birthday party when he was arrested.
According to the State, Staggie and his co-accused were arrested in three luxury cars following a police tip-off. Three handguns, several boxes of expensive whiskey and cigars all worth millions of rand were found in their possession.
All the accused were charged with possession of stolen property.
