A former employee at G4S Security in Kwazulu Natal was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning after he allegedly stole a whopping R2.4 million from the G4S Cash solutions depot in Westville.
Colonel Katlego Mogale says the money was stolen in December 2019 and the Hawks were brought in after a case was opened.
A warrant of arrest was issued for the suspect and he’d been on the run until his arrest on Sunday.
Colonel Mogale says the suspect allegedly built a house using the stolen money and that as a result, the Asset Forfeiture Unit would be part of any further investigations.
The former G4S Security employee is expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
