Football player Bryce Moon has been fined R60 000 or two years in prison.
His drivers licence has also been suspended.
The former Bafana Bafana star was sentenced in the Randburg Magistrate's court on Monday after being found guilty of culpable homicide last week.
Moon was acquitted of murder, attempted murder, drunk driving and reckless or negligent driving charges.
The soccer star knocked down pedestrian Mavis Ncube with his car in 2009 when she was walking on a street in Sandton.
