Five suspects are due to appear in court on Monday for the murder of Zulu Prince, Lethukuthula Zulu.
Gauteng police spokesperson, Brigadier Mathapelo Peters, said the five, including four women, were arrested in Pretoria on Friday night for the alleged murder of the 50-year-old Prince.
His body was found by security guards at his residence at Graceland Residential Complex in Northworld, on 6 November.
Peter said the meticulous investigation into the circumstances of the Prince’s death led to police changing the docket from an inquest to one of murder.
“Critical evidence that could easily have been over-looked, was effectively lifted from the crime scene by the SAPS forensic science experts. The processed evidence assisted the investigating team in establishing a possible linkage of the suspects to the crime,” he said.
“During the arrest, one of the suspects was found in possession of different substances and these were seized for further investigation into the possibility of the deceased and his business partner having been drugged before cash and other valuables were stolen from their place.”
Peters said several items suspected to have been stolen were seized at the residences of the suspects.
“At this point, the suspects are facing a charge of murder and theft,” he said.
