Five people who planned an attack on a Clicks outlet at the Lemon Tree Shopping Centre in Alberton on Monday have been arrested.
Spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters says staff members of this particular branch locked themselves in the store after receiving a warning about EFF members approaching.
She says upon arrival the members smashed the windows, forced open the door and caused further damage inside the store.
Police acted swiftly and arrested five suspects between the aged of 21 and 40.
Meanwhile, Clicks stores nationwide will be shut on Wednesday.
Clicks issued a short note on their social media pages simply stating that stores will be closed.
