The Freedom Front Plus has called for the suspension of an army general who allegedly mobilised troops to free soldiers who had been arrested in Oudtshoorn.
Party spokesperson, Pieter Groenewald, says he should be charged with obstruction of justice and should also be arrested.
Earlier, the SANDF said it was looking into the alleged confrontation between police and the military in Oudtshoorn after 31 soldiers were reportedly arrested during a raid on a shebeen.
Brigadier General Xolani Mabanga says the SANDF notes with concern media reports about the incident... wherein it is alleged that there was a confrontation
between members of the SANDF and SAPS.
Mabanga said the SANDF considered ill-discipline unacceptable.
Western Cape would not confirm that the 31 were soldiers.
