Farmworkers began gathering across the Boland in the Western Cape on Tuesday morning to resume their strike over labour issues.
Farmworkers' Strike Coalition spokesperson Mario Wanza says workers have already formed a group in Ceres, Citrusdal and Zolani in Ashton.
Workers and community members were also expected to meet at an open sports field in De Doorns on Tuesday.
Farmworkers wanted a daily wage of R150, and better living conditions.
They suspended the strike to allow for the Employment Conditions Commission to look at the sectoral determination for agriculture.
They announced they would resume the strike, after Labour Minister Mildred Oliphant said it would be impossible to meet the workers' deadline, by which they had wanted their demands addressed.
The deadline expired on Tuesday.
