President Cyril Ramaphosa will hold a family meeting soon after chairing meetings of the National Coronavirus Command Council and the President’s Coordinating Council on Tuesday.
This, to deliberate on developments in the national response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Government spokesperson, Phumla Williams, says the meetings reflected on the rate of COVID-19 infections and vaccination and assessed the COVID-19 prevention measures in force under Adjusted Level 3 of the national state of disaster.
She says in the coming days, the government will hold consultations with political parties and the religious sector on the observance of safety measures before the President addresses the nation on the way forward.
The National State of Disaster was last week extended to the 15th of October 2021.
