Social networking site Facebook has seen its South African user-base drop by nearly one million in the past six months.
Research from social media monitoring company SocialBakers shows that 967 220 users have not logged on to the site in the past 6 months.
This was a decline of 17.7%.
The numbers also indicated that people aged between 18 and 24-years-old were the biggest group of Facebook users.
Meanwhile, another study conducted by World Wide Worx and Fusewire has found that an increasing number of people over 60-years-old have taken a liking to the site.
