Robbers blew up an ATM and made off with an undisclosed amount of money in Midrand.
Police spokesperson, captain Kym Cloete, said three armed men held up workers at a petrol station in Noordwyk in the early hours of Thursday morning.
She says after the workers were ordered to lie down they heard a loud bang outside.
Cloete says a second ATM was not damaged.
No one was injured.
Meanwhile, Western Cape police say two explosions occurred in Athlone on Wednesday.
Police spokesperson, captain Frederick van Wyk, says one explosion was reported at a car dealership in Belgravia and the other at a house in Surrey Estate.
He says at this stage it is unclear if the two incidents are related.
