A multi-disciplinary task force operating within the OR Tambo International Airport (ORTIA) arrested 11 suspects who allegedly planned a robbery at the Cargo Section.
The spokesperson for the Hawks Colonel Katlego Mogale says the team followed up on the information they received and observed an identified trick with false registration plates and branding.
He says the suspects entered the Swissport with their 8-ton truck and the team tactically contained the truck and 11 suspects who were concealed behind empty cardboard boxes.
All men were arrested and police confiscated the truck, false number plates, three unlicensed firearms, ammunition and cellphones.
The suspects are due in court on Monday.
