An elderly German tourist has died after he was attacked by unknown assailants while playing golf on a course in Margate on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast.
Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a call on Saturday afternoon.
Spokesperson Shawn Herbst says upon arrival they found the 66-year-old man with severe head trauma.
He says the patient was unresponsive and had was declared dead on the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the incident is being investigated by local SAPS.
The name of the victim has not been released.
A Post mortem must still be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
