EFF to open case against woman behind racist voice note

File

The EFF in Gauteng is set to open a criminal case against the Benoni woman who is allegedly behind a racist voice note that has gone viral on social media.

The woman, who is opposed to a campaign to ban pit bulls as pets, can be heard describing black men as being worse than dogs, and she also insulted black women.

The voice recording went viral on social media after it was posted on the Sizwe Kupelo Foundation Facebook page.

The foundation is one of the organisations calling for pit bulls to be banned following a spate of attacks on children.

EFF spokesperson in Gauteng, Dumisani Baleni says they will open a case against the woman and everyone from the WhatsApp group where the original voice note was shared.

On Friday, Gauteng Premier, Panyaza Lesufi also opened a case against the woman and said he was hopeful the police would affect an arrest soon.
