Gauteng police have confirmed the release of a Benoni woman who has been arrested for a racist rant on social media.
Remarks by 60-year-old Belinda Migor, who called for black people to be killed and banned instead of pit bulls, have been met with shock and disgust.
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi opened a criminal case against Migor on Friday.
Gauteng police spokesperson Brenda Muridili says Migor was released on a warning and she will be back in court on 27 March next year.
“A case of crimen injuria was opened on 25 November at Boksburg North and transferred to Putfontein Police Station for investigation. The suspect was arrested and released the same day on a warning", she said.
