The mother of a hiker who hasn't been heard from in over a week says she's growing increasingly anxious with each passing day with no word.
Eco-explorer, Johann van Coller, is on a solo journey hiking from Cape Agulhas to Mount Kilimanjaro.
The 32-year-old Capetonian took off from the southernmost tip of Africa at the end of January.
Last week Monday, he left Witsieshoek in the Drakensberg.
That was the last time Madeleine de Villiers heard from her son.
She says when her son went into the Drakensberg area he said there would be a bad signal, however, they had an arrangement that he would communicate with her every three days, even if it is just an Instagram post so that she will know that he is ok.
De Villiers has now opened up a missing person case at the Ntabamhlope Police station in Estcourt.
