Eastern Cape police have arrested a 23-year-old man for the alleged murder of a 19 year old man.
A police spokesperson said it was alleged that the both the deceased and the suspect were in a tavern on Saturday at Sihlabeni Village, Ngqamakhwe.
“Both men had a misunderstanding that is not known to the police. The suspect is alleged to have drawn his knife and stabbed the 19 year old on his upper body,” a police statement said.
“The latter was rushed to Butterworth hospital where he was certified dead on arrival. The 23 year old suspect was arrested and charged with murder”.
The suspect will appear before the Ngqamakhwe Magistrate Court on Monday.
The identity of the deceased is still being withheld until his family members are informed of his murder.
