A man and a woman from Mpumalanga, who are facing more than 500 charges of theft, fraud and money laundering, have been released on bail.
The 41-year-old Hugo Christian Le Roux and the 35-year-old Rochelle Du Plessis Bekker appeared before the Komatipoort Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
They were granted bail of R10 000 each.
The State alleges that while working for Isuza Carriers, Le Roux worked with Du Plessis Bekker's company to transport clients.
The duo then charged higher rates for the transporting service than the company’s original price and pocketed the difference which accumulated to R1.9 million over three years.
The suspects are due back in court on the 20th of November.
