Police at the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg have arrested two South African citizens who arrived in the country from Brazil with a large quantity of cocaine.
Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Amanda van Wyk says the street value of the drugs is estimated at R7.5 million.
She says they landed at the airport on separate flights.
The woman had cocaine worth R2,5 million in her luggage, while the man was carrying the rest.
They will appear in court soon on charges of drug smuggling.
Van Wyk says investigations are continuing.
