Police have cordoned off the Bedford Centre in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, following a shooting in which several people were wounded.
Full details of the incident are not yet available.
However, Santi Steinmann of Netcare 911 said police and paramedics are still at the scene.
"I can confirm that 5 people sustained gunshot wounds with injuries ranging from serious to critical. The majority of the patients have been treated at the scene and taken to hospital. Police have cordoned off the area and will determine the cause. Nobody is allowed in or out of the centre." she said
According to reports on social media, one person, who also sustained a gunshot wound to the leg,was arrested.
