De Zalze teen still critical


 A 16-year-old girl, who survived an attack on her family in Stellenbosch, during which her parents and a brother were killed, remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

She had an axe wound to the head while her jugular was also severed.

The girl's father Martin van Breda, his wife Theresa and 22-year-old son Rudi, were killed.

Another son, 20-year-old Henri survived the incident which occurred at their home in the De Zalze Golf Estate in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police said that no arrests have yet been made.
