Dozens of people were injured when a bus overturned under a bridge in Kempton Park in Gauteng.
ER24 said approximately 40 to 50 people were left injured on Sunday afternoon in the accident.
A spokesperson said that when paramedics arrived on scene they found the bus lying on its side.
“Several occupants were walking around on the scene while several others were found still inside the vehicle,” said spokesperson Russel Meiring.
“Assessments showed that the patients sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical.
Paramedics from various services treated the patients and provided the critically injured with advanced life support interventions,” he said.
The exact cause of the accident is not known.
