Thirteen dogs being taken illegally to Angola have been rescued by police at Cape Town International Airport.
Two Angolans were arrested in a sting operation on Monday, and face charges of theft.
Their export documents were incomplete and their passports were false.
Police Captain Frederick van Wyk says eight dogs were found in the cargo section at the airport and five in the baggage hall.
The dogs were mainly Alsatians, Rottweilers, German Shepherds and Boerboels.
