The SANDF has slated media reports about the death toll in the Central African Republic.
Mabanga, says there had been no balance in the reports about the casualties during the engagement between the CAR rebels and the SANDF members.
Thirteen South Africans were killed in the battle but speculation mounted that more had died.
Meanwhile the bodies of the five soldiers who died when a helicopter crashed in Kruger National Park in March, will be handed over to their families on Tuesday.
The SA National Defence Force says the ceremony will take place at the Waterkloof Air Force Base in Pretoria.
SANDF spokesperson, brigadier-general Xolani Mabanga says senior government officials are expected to attend the ceremony.
The five were conducting a scheduled anti-rhino poaching aerial patrol at the end of last month when it crashed.
The probe into the cause of the crash is underway.
