A man from Daveyton on the East Rand has been arrested after he allegedly assaulted and killed a metro police officer.
Police said the officers were executing an order to remove the businessman's caravan which he operated as a fast food stall.
The businessman, in his thirties, allegedly assaulted one of the policemen who fell and hit his head on the ground.
The officer died at the scene after the colleagues and paramedics tried to resuscitate him.
The man was arrested for assault and resisting arrest while a case of murder is also being investigated.
