Police have arrested eight people after shutting down a cannabis laboratory in Bloemfontein.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Lynda Steyn, says members of the Hawks and several police units swooped in on premises in Bloemspruit on Thursday and arrested eight suspects between the ages of 22 and 52.
She says a fully-fledged dagga cultivation greenhouse was discovered on the property and that a substantial amount of dagga was also seized.
Steyn said a forensic team had been brought in to assist in the dismantling of the greenhouse.
The eight suspects will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of cultivating and dealing in dagga.
