A man who was travelling from the Eastern Cape to Cape Town was arrested at a roadblock in Calvinia on Friday morning.
Spokesperson Brigadier Mohale Ramatseba says the 56-year-old man who hails from Johannesburg was found in possession of 12.6 kg of crystal meth which was hidden in the spare wheel of his bakkie.
He says more drugs were also discovered in a hidden compartment inside his vehicle.
The street value of the meth is just under R4 million.
The suspect will appear in the Calvinia Magistrates Court on Monday.
