Police in Limpopo have condemned the brutal acts of violence against innocent children in the province.
This after a father killed both his daughters, seemingly out of anger towards his estranged wife.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says it is alleged that the couple separated last year following a domestic dispute.
The wife then took her children and moved to her parent’s home in Giyani.
Ngoepe says on Saturday both the children went back to Mankweng to visit their dad for the school holidays.
He says upon their arrival the 38-year-old Samuel Kgatle called his estranged wife and hanged both his children after ending the conversation.
Police discovered the bodies of 5-year-old Marry Kgatle and her 8-year-old sister in different rooms in the house.
Ngoepe says a manhunt was launched which led them to the father’s body.
The 38-year-old Kgatle had taken his own life and his body was found in a nearby house.
Police are investigating two cases of murder and an inquest.
