COVID-19 claims 286 more lives in SA

The Department of Health has confirmed that 286 more deaths due to Covid-19 had been recorded on Friday, bringing the total number of fatalities to 11 556.

The number of confirmed cases increased by 6 286, which brought the total in the country to 579 140.

The number of people who have recovered from the coronavirus has also increased and now stands at 79 percent.

In the Eastern Cape, 2 442 deaths were recorded, while more than 78 800 people of the 83 372 cases in the province have recovered.
