Two Mpumalanga cops have been arrested in Gauteng for allegedly being in possession of dagga and money taken from drug dealers.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Mathapelo Peters, said that the arrests were made after the occupants of a vehicle that had been stopped at a roadblock told police that members in a marked Flying Squad vehicle had taken dagga and cash from them.
He said police members manning the roadblock this weekend realised that the marked Mpumalanga police vehicle had passed through the roadblock earlier and went in pursuit of their colleagues.
Peters said the two cops were stopped at an intersection in Springs and arrested.
“The two suspects are now facing both a criminal charge as well as departmental steps that have been sanctioned as a matter of urgency,” she said.
